A date for your diary – our friends at Shropshire Wildlife Trust will be hosting another family summer holiday event at the marina on Saturday 13th August, 10.30am – 3.30pm.

Come and enjoy ‘Bog in a Box’ and get close up to a bog without getting your feet wet and learn all about our amazing local mosses.  Did you know that sphagnum moss from Whixall was used to make field dressings in World War I? Have you ever felt the sloughed (cast) skin of a snake, had a close look at what’s left over when a dragonfly emerges or stroked a sundew? A wealth of experiences await you!

No booking required, this is a drop-in anytime event. Refreshments available to purchase from our café. Full details of the event here: https://themeresandmosses.co.uk/?event=bog-in-a-box
